I started MB Wellness because I wanted to help people in the best way I knew how.
Before starting MB Wellness, I worked for a corporate gym that just didn’t seem to care enough about what it was doing the quality of the training, the experience of its customers, or the environment it was creating. Combined with a toxic culture, it became something I personally didn’t want to support or be associated with.
I care far too much about the people I’m helping, the environment they’re in, and the quality of training I provide.
I had a vision for what personal training could look like, but at the time, I couldn’t bring that vision to life in the environment I was working in. I knew I could create a better space for my clients. Eventually, I realized that if I wanted that place to exist, I was going to have to create it myself.
So I made a bold move, went out on my own, and started MB Wellness.
A Gym Built for Active Aging
MB Wellness isn’t just another gym. It’s a place built for active aging adults who want to get stronger, move better, have more mobility, and continue doing the things they enjoy.
As we get older, life can throw a lot at us. We take on more responsibilities, experience greater stress, deal with old injuries, and sometimes put our own health on the back burner.
That’s one of the biggest reasons MB Wellness exists.
I wanted to create a place for people who are actively aging and want to maintain their independence and physical confidence while following a structured fitness program that actually meets them where they are.
Because ultimately, this isn’t just about working out.
Life is meant to be enjoyed, and that becomes a lot harder when you don’t have the energy to do the things you love, old injuries are constantly bothering you, or you no longer have the physical confidence you once had.
Getting stronger can help change that.
Fitness Should Build You Up, Not Beat You Down
My goal isn’t to make you as sweaty and sore as possible. It’s not to make you track every single thing you eat or feel guilty because you missed a workout.
My goal is to help you get stronger, become more consistent, train safely, and most importantly have a good experience with fitness.
Too often, fitness leaves people feeling like they’re broken or incapable of working out. Workouts can be unnecessarily challenging, intimidating, or focused on how exhausted and beat up they can make someone feel.
That has never been what I wanted for the people I help.
I want to build people up.
Training should challenge you, but it should also help you develop confidence in what your body is capable of doing. I want you to leave MB Wellness feeling stronger and more capable not feeling like you barely survived your workout.
Over time, that confidence starts carrying over into the rest of your life.
You realize you can lift something you couldn’t before. You can get off the floor more easily. You can keep up with your kids or grandkids. You can travel, work around the house, enjoy your hobbies, and say yes to things without immediately wondering whether your body can handle them.
That’s the kind of strength I’m interested in building.
A Community Where People Actually Know Your Name
There was another important reason I wanted to create MB Wellness: community.
I wanted to build a place for people who don’t enjoy the traditional big-box gym experience. A smaller environment where people can feel comfortable, make friends, widen their social circle, and be around others who genuinely want to see them succeed.
Because when we do hard things together, it makes them suck a little less.
And I think that’s important.
When you’re surrounded by fun, supportive people, working out becomes something you can actually look forward to instead of something you feel like you have to do.
You celebrate each other’s wins. You laugh. You struggle through the hard stuff together. And eventually, the people you train alongside aren’t just strangers who happen to have the same appointment time.
They become part of your community.
Why MB Wellness Exists
MB Wellness started because I believed there was a better way to help people experience fitness.
A place where getting older doesn’t mean giving up the things you love.
A place where training is challenging without being intimidating.
A place where you’re treated like a person instead of a membership number.
And a place where getting stronger isn’t about proving how much punishment you can tolerate it’s about building a body that gives you the freedom and confidence to live your life.
That’s why I started MB Wellness.
